The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation (PPCO), has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s comments at the Presidential Town Hall meeting, Abuja, on Wednesday, exposed his alleged proclivities for corruption, as well as his insensitivity to the plight of ordinary Nigerians, especially those in the North.

A statement by its Director of Media and Publicity, Kola Ologbondiyan, said: “Particularly revealing was Buhari’s contention on whether Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, could not have used another person to get the money; a comment, which ostensibly exposes how corruption is being covered in the Buhari Presidency.

“Nigerians can now see that the Buhari Presidency is a sanctuary of corruption, where officials thrive in using faceless individuals as fronts to fritter trillions of naira and cover their trails, while Nigerians wallow in hunger, acute starvation and untold hardship.

“Perhaps, this offers an insight into why there has been no investigation into alleged involvement of some individuals said to be close to the Buhari Presidency in the N1.032 trillion alleged corrupt acquisitions in 9Mobile and Keystone Bank PLC.

“This is in addition to the muting of investigations of a former aide to the First Lady, Aisha, Mr. Baba Inna, who was arrested in September last year, over accusations of receiving N2.5 billion from politicians, businessmen and women on behalf of the First Lady.

“Nigerians can also recall the confession of one Amina Mohammed, who while being paraded by the Department of State Services (DSS), stated in public that persons close to President Buhari were involved in serial fraud and looting of public resources under the official cover of the Buhari Presidency.

“This could also explain why investigations into the leaked memo detailing how N9 trillion was frittered through underhand contracts at the NNPC and Ministry of Petroleum Resources has been stalled.

“This is in addition to government’s refusal to open up on allegations that 18 unregistered companied were used to divert N1.1 trillion worth of crude oil in 2017, as well as the alleged stealing of over N18 billion out of the N48 billion approved by the National Assembly for the rebuilding of six North East states ravaged by insurgency among other sleazes in the Buhari Presidency.”

In another statement also signed by Ologbondiyan, the PDP mocked Buhari for referring to the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Delta State, Great Ogboru as “our presidential candidate,” at the party’s campaign in Warri, yesterday.

“President Buhari is already in the mood of his May 29, 2019 handover of mantle of leadership to PDP Presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, following the national consensus to return the PDP back to power in the February 16, 2019 presidential elections.

“Buhari had continued to display that he did not have the intention of seeking for a second term in office. It is evident that he is only being compelled by the cabal in his Presidency, who the First Lady, Aisha, had confirmed are manipulating the President for their pecuniary interest while the nation suffers,” the opposition party stated.

Repeated efforts to reach the APC spokesman, Lanre Issa-Onilu, for reaction were unsuccessful yesterday, as he did not respond to calls and text massage sent to his mobile phone.

The Federal Government is targeting to create five million jobs with the the launch of ‘The Green Imperative’ agricultural mechanisation programme with a $1.1 billion loan from the Brazilian government.

The Green Imperative is a Brazil – Nigeria bilateral project conceived to enhance the agricultural sector through the provision of modern machineries/ implements.

The $1.1 billion partnership also include 10,000 tractors to be assembled in Nigeria, more than 707 centers to be established to train not less than 10,000 Nigerians.

This is coming as part of Federal Government’s plans to mitigate key agricultural gaps including the inability to meet domestic food requirements and Nigeria’s inability to satisfy growing export demands in terms of quantity and quality

The country is challenged by input system, hampered by farming models that are largely inefficient, poor seedlings, lack of adequate fertilizer input, poor irrigation system as well as absence of crop protection.

Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo, who launched the project Thursday at the State House Conference Center, Abuja, the ‘Green Imperative’ is aimed at boosting agricultural production in Nigeria.

Osinbajo described the project as “signature focused”, noting that “We cannot bring our nation out of poverty without investment in agriculture. Also the sheer number of young people coming of age will not only need to be fed but employed. They want dignified jobs with decent pay.”

The Vice President further described the ‘Green Imperative’, as a game changer, because with mechanised agriculture everything becomes different. “Today, we are producing paddy rice as much as we need because of mechanisation of agriculture. The only way to make the quantum leap required in our economy is what we are doing today with this project, the Green Imperative.”

Osinbajo added that “one of the reasons young people don’t warm up to agriculture is because it is not mechanised but that will change with this project.”

He added that with the Green Imperative, “We have made a significant difference in creating food sufficiency and decent jobs. We have ensured that this will be private sector driven.” The Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh, advises youths to seek another empire, to seek wealth through agriculture, adding that having another address other than politics as this will give them a voice in the society, adding that “With Brazilian support, we will get to where we want.

“Importation alone does not make a country great, production does. By importation we also imported poverty and unemployment but this administration is set to reverse all that. Work is prayer in action.”

Ogbe assured the Brazilian team that the environment would be friendly and welcoming, adding that, “There is nothing wrong in borrowing if you use it well, it is when you waste that you invite disaster.”

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has recovered a sum of $49,000 (about N17m) and five exotic cars from the mansion of a suspected Internet fraudster (popularly known as Yahoo boy), Tomilola Owootomo.

The vehicles are two Bugatti cars, a Mercedes Benz GLK, a Mercedes Benz car and a Porshe, while the house, a duplex, was valued at N300m.

It was learnt that EFCC operatives had raided the suspect’s house at Gwarimpa, Abuja, on a tip-off.

However, Owootomo, 22, evaded arrest.

The acting spokesperson for the commission, Tony Orilade, in a statement on Friday said fleeing Owootomo was one of the seven suspects whose locations were raided by the operatives on Wednesday.

He said six suspects – Chemezie Ezeife, John Onwochei, Joel Onwochei, Marvin Nwankwo, Prince Ojenike, and Jude Olatekobowale – were arrested.

Items allegedly recovered from Ezeife included a Mercedes Benz C300, a Toyota Camry and a Lexus Jeep, four laptop computers, a passport, several wrist watches, two iPhones, blackberry phones, and a Samsung phone.

Several suspicious emails were also said to have been traced to his account.

Orilade said, “Investigation into the activities of another syndicate traced to the Nova Estate in Apo, led to the arrest of two brothers, Joel and John. John, the younger brother, confessed that he got involved in Internet fraud as a student. He successfully defrauded one Miss Lynese from Zambia, using Facebook, in the guise that he was one Carlos Gomes, a British citizen. Joel confessed that his brother initiated him into love scam.

“Items found in his possession were iPhone 6 and iPhone 7. He also confessed to having a landed property in Benin, Edo State, all of which he acquired with the money he made from Internet fraud. Two laptop computers, a white Range Rover Sport, white Mercedes Benz E350, and a grey Toyota Camry were recovered from him.

“The residence of the seventh suspect, Tomilola Owootomo, 22, was also raided at the Gwarimpa area, following information about his shady activities. Exhibits recovered from Owootomo, who is currently at large, are two Bugatti cars, a Mercedes Benz GLK, Mercedes Benz car, Porshe, $49,000 and duplex worth N300m.”

The spokesperson said the suspects would be charged to court after investigations.

In an interview with VOA Hausa Service in Washington DC, PDP presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar said stories that he was banned from the United States was ‘misinformation’.

He spoke after his arrival to the US capital. Here are details;

Interview conducted by VOA’s Aliyu Mustapha Sokoto.

VOA: What has been in the news for many years has come to past right now I’m together with the former Vice President of Nigeria and the Presidential flag bearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after he had just returned from some interactive session with some high ranking Congress Men and Women. Your excellency, now that you have visited Washington D.C, does it have to do with those who said you cannot come to the United State of America or the visit is for what purpose?

Atiku: Aliyu I told you before that my coming to the United State is in the hands of Americans if they decided to issue a Visa to me I will definitely come and if they refused to give me I cannot come. And now they have issued it to me and I am here. I’m having some positive discussions with some of the officials. I was in the Congress and I had discussions with some high ranking Congress men and women about Nigeria and how Nigeria intends to improve her relationship with the United States of America.

VOA: After visiting the Congress, do you intend to meet with some other people?

Atiku: Yes, by tomorrow (Friday) I will go to the State Department in order to have vital discussions with some of their officials.

VOA: Will you also meet with the members of the United States Chamber of Commerce?

Atiku: Yes, I will meet them tomorrow (Friday) by the Grace of God.

VOA: Who invited you to the United State?

Atiku: I was invited by many organizations in United States.

VOA: Before some people are saying that you cannot come to the United States of America but now you are here people will stop doubting.

Atiku: The whole thing is about misinformation

VOA: What do you mean by misinformation?

Atiku: Because for a very long time they have been lying to them (Nigerians) and they agreed; I tried to explain to them but they refused to listen. And I hope now people are going to understand.

VOA: Your coming to America has shown that you are going to have some interactions with some top officials of the United State are they in support of your candidacy?

Atiku: Yes.

VOA: Are you convinced that the United States Government are in support of your candidacy?

Atiku: There is no doubt because the United State is ready to support any country that is practicing democracy.

VOA: People know you as a businessman; do you think that your business background and experience will influence the United States Government to support you?

Atiku: One good thing is that Nigeria is a country that is practicing democracy and everyone knows that we have played a significant role and have done a lot to sustain democratic governance in Nigeria and it is very important.

Buhari Media Organisation (BMO) said yesterday that it has unearthed plans by the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and its presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar to infiltrate the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by sponsoring its supporters to work within the commission as electoral officers.

BMO also said the opposition was deploying massive resources to rig the election.

The organisation said in a statement issued by its chairman, Niyi Akinsiju and secretary, Cassidy Madueke, that the plans of the opposition “to subvert the will of the people”, is the recent recruitment of a former INEC Chairman known to have presided over the worse election in Nigeria’s recent political history.

The group said the rigging plot also involves spending huge sums of money on police personnel and election officials in many parts of the country. It added that the opposition was also plotting to infiltrate the electoral body with their supporters.

The group asked INEC to be vigilant and ensure that PDP supporters were not recruited as electoral officers for the presidential and other elections.

The African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) on Wednesday in Cairo signed a facility agreement lending $170 million to Egypt-based conglomerate Orascom Investment Holding (OIH) to assist the company to expand its pan-African activities in pursuit of its short and medium-term expansion strategy.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Afreximbank President Prof. Benedict Oramah, said that the facility agreement was part of the bank’s effort to promote intra-African investments and export manufacturing using the framework of its Intra-African Investment Finance Facility.

Oramah said that the transaction was a significant opportunity for OIH’s targeted investments in companies across Africa to support their transformation, increase their production capacity and produce higher quality exports through better value addition, especially in the agro-processing sector.

The facility would complement ongoing macroeconomic and safety net reforms in Egypt, which seek to foster sector-specific economic growth, especially in strategic sectors with a proven record of creating jobs and reducing poverty, he said.

The president said that the agreement would set up a long-term strategic partnership between Afreximbank and Orascom, describing OIH as one of the most successful and diverse holding companies in the North Africa region, with the potential of assisting the Bank in expanding its operations in the regional and Egyptian markets.

“Our collaboration opens the potential for our two institutions to strengthen their relationship and mutual cooperation in order to make significant contributions towards unlocking the full potentials of intra-African investment,” he added.

Also speaking, Naguib Sawiris, Chairman of OIH, said that that the company’s main focus was currently on investing in Africa, adding that the continent would only achieve progress if intra-African trade and investment growth happened.

It was up to the Africans to come together to work for that goal, he said. In that regard, Orascom Investment would explore business and investment opportunities referred to it by Afreximbank in such countries as Rwanda, Togo, Eretria, Nigeria and Sao Tome.

Sawiris commended Afreximbank for the quick turnaround in processing the transaction and for the professionalism and dedication shown by the Afreximbank team.

Accompanying Mr. Sawiris to the signing ceremony were Tamer Elmahdy, Chief Executive Officer; and Khaled Elleithy, Chief Financial Officer.

The World Bank Thursday, unveiled its approved Action Plan on Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience covering a period of five years.

Under the plan, the bank will ramp up direct adaptation climate finance to reach $50 billion over FY21–25.

According to the bank, this financing level, an average of $10 billion a year is more than double what was achieved during FY15-18.

The World Bank Group will also pilot new approaches to increasing private finance for adaptation and resilience.

Chief Executive Officer of World Bank, Kristalina Georgieva, said “Our new plan will put climate resilience on an equal footing with our investment in a low carbon future for the first time. We do this because, simply put, the climate is changing so we must mitigate and adapt at the same time.

“We will ramp up our funding to help people build a more resilient future, especially the poorest and most vulnerable who are most affected.”

The increase in adaptation financing will support activities that include: delivering higher quality forecasts, early warning systems and climate information services to better prepare 250 million people in at least 30 countries for climate risks; supporting 100 river basins with climate-informed management plans and/or improved river basin management governance; building more climate-responsive social protection systems; and supporting efforts in at least 20 countries to respond early to, and recover faster from, climate and disaster shocks through additional financial protection instruments.

In addition to boosting finance, the Plan will also support countries to mainstream approaches to systematically manage climate risks at every phase of policy planning, investment design, and implementation.

Former Secretary-General, United Nations and co-chair of the Global Commission on Adaptation, Ban Ki-moon said, “This Action Plan is a welcome step from the World Bank. The world’s poorest and most climate vulnerable countries stand to benefit from its increased finance and support for longer term policy change.”

The Action Plan builds on the link between adaptation and development by promoting effective and early actions that also provide positive development outcomes. For example, investing in mangrove replanting may protect a local community against sea level rise and storm surges, while also creating new opportunities for eco-tourism and fisheries. Early and proactive adaptation and resilience-building actions are more cost-effective than addressing impacts after they occur.

It was a well guarded trip, no leaks, no distractions, pure surprise for many political watchers. In fact, while he was already in the plane heading to America, some were still busy saying he can't visit America.

Presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, arrived the United States of America yesterday and is, today, expected to speak at the United States’ Chamber of Commerce in Washington DC, from 2.30pm to 4:00pm.

Atiku is expected to speak at a private roundtable, hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce and the US African Business Center at 1615 H Street, NW 20062.

Atiku left Nigeria from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, in company with the Senate President and Director General of the Atiku/Obi Presidential Campaign Organisation, Dr. Bukola Saraki.

After controversies over the refusal of the US to grant him entry into the country for 12 years, indications emerged in December 2018 that Atiku was finally issued a visa by the US embassy.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) had used the fact that he was unable to travel to the US as a result of a bribery scandal involving William Jefferson, a former US congressman in 2004 to discredit him.

APC National Chairman, Adams Oshiomhole, has repeatedly said Atiku could not go to the US because he was “running away from investigations by the US authorities... The PDP has a presidential candidate who can only travel to Dubai,” Oshiomhole had said.

During one of his interviews before he emerged the PDP candidate, Atiku explained that though he had applied for visa, he was told that his application is going through administrative process. He was eventually cleared.

Yesterday evening, his Media Adviser, Paul Ibe, said in a statement that Atiku would meet “with US government officials, the business community and the Nigerian community.”

Generally, after being married for a number of years, many couples would discover a reduction in their level of intimacy. Many couples see themselves becoming more of friends than lovers. This is especially the case when children are involved. The kids become the centre of attraction and other aspects of the marriage, including intimacy, get relegated to the background.

But this phenomenon is not restricted to couples who have children. Even among those who do not have kids, a decline in the level of intimacy is experienced after some time.

However, it is important for couples who find themselves in this situation to take practical steps to rediscover, and renew the intimacy that used to be a vital aspect of their relationship.

Be more open to each other:

A sex therapist and relationship expert, Dr Tolulope Oko-Igaire, advised that couples who are experiencing a decline in their intimacy level should try to be more open to each other in order to rekindle the passion. According to her, such couples should be frank, and express how they feel about each other, in order to get over the situation.

Be ready to explore:

In addition to being open to each other, couples should be ready to explore new things in order to rediscover the high level of intimacy that characterised the early days of their relationship. Getting stuck in a routine could be the reason for the decline in sexual desire in the first instance, according to experts.

“Couples should be ready to explore. They should make sure that the satisfaction of their partner is paramount. And in order to do this, they should explore and learn new things,” Oko-Igaire advised.

Understand that ‘dry’ spells are normal:

Couples also need to know that dry spells – periods without sexual intimacy – in marriage are normal. Relationship experts all agree on this point. It is rare to see a marriage that doesn’t experience dry spells for one reason or another, and they don’t necessarily mean anything is wrong, or that the marriage is in trouble. Also, dry spell can mean different lengths of time to different couples. Some spouses might raise an eyebrow at two weeks without sexual activity, while others may have been bedroom-shy for months and now feel embarrassed to talk about it. Or maybe they have talked about it, but the sparks still aren’t flying, or the communication doesn’t feel productive, so they worry about the future of their relationship. These are all valid concerns – sex is an integral part of any marriage and should not be overlooked. But it is also important to keep things in perspective. Couples are emotional human beings with complicated lives. They have ups and downs. A sexual dry spell does not mean the bells have tolled on the marriage. In fact, after working through the issue, the marriage may come out stronger on the other side.

Don’t use sex as a tool or weapon:

While consent is always necessary in sexual encounters — including those between husband and wife — sex should never be used as a weapon. Couples who are going through a decline in intimacy levels should make sure that they are not denying their partners sex as a form of punishment, or just to get back at them for one perceived wrong or the other. Ignoring or withholding sex can lead to long-term bitterness and hurt.

Over time, those negative emotions can worsen and take an emotional toll on the marriage. So you should never leave your spouse wondering why you are not having sex. Like Oko-Igaire advised, couples should always be open to each other.

Refocus on your marriage:

This kind of emotional and physical rut can also happen if either spouse places too much attention on other corners of life, especially focusing on work or on taking care of the kids, which can lead to cutting back on time solely devoted to the husband and wife relationship.

Sometimes, couples need to put family first, and turn down certain work assignments or miss a few of their kids’ activities so as to go on a date, or spend time together. Ask yourself if you truly place your marriage first, or if you have just been telling yourself that you do without following through.

Gradually rebuild your intimacy:

Nicole Prause, neuroscientist and licensed psychologist, is the founder of the start-up, Liberos, which researches the brain science involved in sex drive. She explains that sometimes in the realm of psychiatry, forgoing sex is suggested to couples, in order to rebuild the relationship using sensate focus exercises instead.

“Sensate focus exercises are used to help with a variety of sexual problems,” says Prause. “The very first rule is to take intercourse off the table and have graduated touching exercises with your partner.”

So if you’re already going through a period of abstinence, these exercises might be worth a try.

The phases are meant to gradually build or restore trust, intimacy, and pleasure between partners. Sensate focus exercises can reduce negative associations one or both spouses have to sex (for whatever reason) because they establish ground rules that foster communication, equality, kindness, and awareness. According to Prause, there is no right or wrong timeline for moving through the phases: Depending on how quickly the couple moves through the stages, they may not have intercourse for several months.

So think of a dry spell as an opportunity to re-discover each other. And once you do get to intercourse, Prause suggests that you may be better off than before. “One of the goals of the exercise is to help reduce demands when the couple does begin to have sex again,” says Prause. “Hopefully, they will recall a period of still feeling very close and intimate with each other when they were not having sex per se, and this dry spell will help them learn that sex does not need to occur in the same way at a particular time to have a strong relationship.”

Couples who play together stay together:

Growing apart can reflect a switch from interest in shared time and activities, including sexual sharing, to one or both partners turning outside the marriage for friends, fun and emotional connection. According to relationship experts, couples who effectively alternate ‘together time’ with individual activities generally thrive.

At the same time, if the hours apart involve activities that one partner disapproves of, instead of enriching the relationship, the impact of the separate time is likely to be corrosive. Marijuana smoking, high-risk sports, religious or political dedication to ideas that are not embraced by both partners, or association with friends that the partner distrusts, for instance, can open ever-widening canyons between partners.

Similarly, if times spent together evoke negative feelings like boredom or irritation, there’s likely to be trouble ahead. Couples do best if they can talk, play and make love together in ways that renew their positive connection.

Also, insufficient together time, even from purely practical reasons like excessive work hours, long commutes and distance, among others, can also lead to growing apart.

Take a fresh perspective:

The chance to start fresh shouldn’t be underestimated. While sex is an important part of the marriage sacrament that should be taken seriously, that intimacy should also be enjoyable. No matter how long they have been married, couples can enjoy the same playfulness they had during their honeymoon – it only requires a little effort. Adam Busch, who runs a dating newsletter service in Sacramento, California, believes undergoing a sexual dry spell may actually be a chance to bring back a dash of the spice from the early days together.

“Taking breaks can be good for a couple because it is another step in breaking up routine,” he says. “One of the biggest killers of any relationship is routine. When sex becomes routine, it loses the luster that it originally had. Sometimes creating a sex break can be beneficial for building up desire, but only if the reason for the break is correctly communicated.”

Remember that your marriage is unique:

It is important for couples to remind themselves that they don’t have to follow society’s lead. They need to evaluate what makes them feel happy and fulfilled. Therefore, what is realistic for a married couple will depend upon various factors, like age, health and desire. As a result, couples should do what is realistic for them and not be concerned about what is ‘normal’ for others. Your ‘normal’ may look vastly different from another couple’s ‘normal’, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

As with most things in your marriage, you and your spouse must talk to one another and work through challenges together, whether physical, emotional, or a combination of the two.

Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Champions League Lobi Stars on Saturday face a tough test in their second Group A match against Ivory Coast champions ASEC Momosas at the Houphouet Boigny Stadium in Abidjan.

Last week, Lobi had a tough game in their opening match in the group when they rallied from a goal down to beat South African champions Mamolodi Sundowns 2-1 in Enugu. But the Ivorian side lost 5-2 to Wydad Casablanca of Morocco in their first match.

The hosts are seeking all three points to put their chances of progressing to the knockout stages of the competition back on track while the Nigerians would hope for a positive result to boost their chances of also progressing from the group for the first time in their history.

Lobi had previously in 2000 crashed out in the group stage of the Champions League when they made their debut in the competition.

The Makurdi club are second in Group A with three points – same as top placed Wydad – while ASEC are placed fourth in the group with no point after matchday one.

The Ivorians have suffered only one loss in the competition – last week’s 5-2 loss to Wydad in Morocco, which ended their four-match unbeaten run in this year’s competition. Before the loss, they had recorded three wins and one draw.

But Lobi have lost two matches in the Champions League this season. They lost 1-0 to USM de Loum of Cameroon in the preliminary round before recording a 3-1 loss to Gor Mahia in Nairobi in first round of the competition.

ASEC coach Amani Yao urged his team to be ruthless in front of goal as the 1998 Champions League winners target their first win in the group.

“We tried to work to erase our mistakes, the mistakes we made in Rabat, so that we can try to be successful on Saturday,” Yao said.

“We will try to approach this game well, whether in attack or defence. We will have to be effective in front of goal.”

But Lobi coach Solomon Ogbeide said his side will take the game to Mimosas as they look to secure their second successive win in Group A.

“We haven’t won anything yet but we can now build on the victory against Mamelodi Sundowns to focus on the next game against ASEC,”Ogbeide told our correspondent during the week.

“We have a good spirit, and remain positive going for the away game against ASEC and we are going to take the game to them in Abidjan.

“There are no small teams in the group and we are still the underdogs because the other three teams, ASEC, Wydad and Sundowns are past winners of the Champions League.”

Lobi will be without midfielder John Lawrence, who was suspended for involving in a fight with Gor Mahia players earlier in the competition, as well as Sikiru Alimi, Samad Kadiri, and Anthony Agbaji who have reportedly travelled out for trials in Europe.

“We will have to focus our strategy around those that are available. We did the same thing against Sundowns and we won. We know it will not be easy especially since they lost their first match and they are at home. But we want to get all the points we can before facing the North Africans who will be tough for us as well,” the veteran coach said.

If you like doubt it, it is none of my business, I earn close to a million naira monthly on the internet with the new hot niche called Sport Industry in Nigeria. The amazing part regarding this sport trading of a thing is that I don't know anything pertaining to football, I neither watch it nor discuss it, and I still earn from it.

What I do is just to log on to trade on football without any risk as it is not prediction, you earn money live during the training daily for seven days. You can even make more than what I charge for the training before it ends because I will ensure that 'strategically' and viola you are in a boom. You see, trust nobody that is the saying but you have to trust someone thus says the popular Hip-hop musician.

When it comes to internet business opportunities, I am one of the people you should bank on because I know it inside out because I have been online for some years. That is if you too have been tapping the mouse for a long time you must have come across my name or my website ==> N.A.I.R.A.C.L.A.S.S.COM .

People say you can never beat the bookmakers (nairabet, bet9ja etc), in one sense they are right, in another sense they are absolutely wrong reason being that with right information there is no technology, innovation, invention etc that can never be outsmarted, that is why the aphorism goes if you are not informed you will be deformed.

You see, I have seen people work from home in Nigeria raking in CEO income (six figure income). Stop 'dulling' yourself you will be making money from Sport trading and not sport betting which is very legal and in conformity with all faiths for Pastor or Evangelist, Imam or 'Alfa', Oluwo or 'Abore' (traditional priest) etc if you allow me to teach you online for 7 (seven days) while you will be earning daily for that week.

This is not a joking matter, as I have just moved to my multi-million naira house with the income realised from this sport trading. For those who have been opportune to meet me in those years when I was holding one on one (face to face) training could testify how I was earning money live in the training because I used to show them.

Now another opportunity is here for you to get a business for yourself, which after I train you one on one online for 7 days (you will earn big during the training), you will have the skill to make money for life without paying anyone, even while earning you are not paying any monthly subscription, because everything I will show you is free and sure technique. I have paid hundreds of dollars and euros to fixed matches which happened to result to loss. I have made the discovery that changed the course of my life positively.

Still skeptical? I can give you my username and password to check my sport trading account to see for yourself then after you have checked it then I'll change the password.

This online training cost a million naira, yes, because you can earn billions with it with time because as you get it you have it for life.

Okay, I am giving out a one-week training for N100,000, but if you pay before the end of this month you can pay N50,000. By ending I will increase it to normal price I mean it because I don't even want to divulge the secret to many people owing to the fact that bookmakers will be removing the trading option from their sites once they know our secret.

Mrs Theresa Jimoh, the mother of a business mogul, Jimoh Ibrahim, has been killed in a fire that broke out at her house in the Victoria Garden City, Lagos Island, Lagos State.

The fire, which started in the early hours of Saturday, was caused by candlelight.

The victim, who was reported to have slept off while praying at her residence on Road 3, House B8, was burnt to death before the intervention of firefighters from the Lagos State Fire Service.

Her remains were said to have been handed over to officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, who deposited them in a morgue.

The Director of the Lagos State Fire Service, Rasak Musbau, confirmed the incident, adding that residents on the estate had tried in vain to manage the inferno before the fire service was called.

He said the fire was suspected to have been caused by a lit candle.

Musbau said, “We got the call in the early hours of Saturday and the Lekki Fire Station responded to it. The VGC estate has a fire unit. So, before we were called, they had been trying to contain the fire on their own; but they were overwhelmed. Their vehicle also had a fault.

“When we got there, the fire was well alight. We recovered the woman with the joint efforts of LASEMA officials, who took away her corpse. What we gathered was that she always had prayer sessions, and maybe in the process, she lit a candle and slept off.”

The Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Chike Oti, said the fire started around 2am.

He said, “Someone had heard the woman calling for help, but when they got there, her room was engulfed in fire. The estate fire service and the state fire service worked together to put out the inferno. The corpse was later deposited in a Lagos State general hospital morgue. Investigation is ongoing into the actual cause of the fire.”

Former president Olusegun Obasanjo says Nigeria is back to the Abacha era when state institutions were used to fight perceived enemies of the head of state, recklessly.

Obasanjo gave the warning on Sunday in his state of the nation address which he tagged “Points for Concern and Action”.

Sani Abacha, a general, was the military head of state from November 1993 till his death in June 1998 and was accused of using dictatorial powers to rule the country.

Obasanjo decided to address the nation following recent developments in the polity, including the trial of the chief justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen, over an alleged false declaration of assets.

Obasanjo said: “Today, another Abacha Era is here. The security institutions are being misused to fight all critics and opponents of Buhari and to derail our fledgling democracy. EFCC, Police and Code of Conduct Tribunal are also being equally misused to deal with those Buhari sees as enemies for criticising him or as those who may not do his bidding in manipulating election results.

"Criticism, choice and being different are inherent trade mark of democracy. If democracy is derailed or aborted, anarchy and authoritarianism will automatically follow.

“Today, as in the day of Abacha, Nigerians must rise up and do what they did in the time of Abacha. Churches and Mosques prayed. International community stood by us Nigerians. I was a beneficiary and my life was saved. Well-meaning Nigerians took appropriate actions and made sacrifices, some supreme, some less than supreme but God had the final say and He took the ultimate action.”

Obasanjo say Nigerians won't allow one man make them start living in fear.

A 27-year-old man, Emmanuel (surname withheld) has lost an eye in his quest for spiritual powers to help him win lottery games somewhere in Delta state.

He reportedly sought help from a witch doctor in Ishiagu village, near Ogwashi-Uku in Delta, to acquire spiritual sight to see lucky numbers.

A friend of the victim, Osita, told NAN on Sunday in Ogwashi-Uku that the incident occurred on January 12, 2019.

“He went to see a juju man to help him acquire spiritual sight so that he could be wining lotto games, popularly known as ‘Baba Ijebu.’

“He once told me that he was worried that he had been playing lotto games without success,” Osita said.

According to him, Emmanuel later sought the help of a witch doctor who assured him of spiritual solution.

Osita narrated how Emmanuel later went to the witch doctor who reportedly prepared some concoctions for him.

He said the witch doctor gave Emmanuel the prepared substance to drink and to also rub on his eyes.

“He never told anyone what he did, but when he started feeling some discomfort in his left eye, he cried out.

“I heard about it from one of our friends; so, I went to see him, that was when he told me what transpired.

“He was taken to the hospital following a swollen eye, but no solution. Right now, he has lost his left eye,” Osita said.

An elder brother to Emmanuel, Justin, told NAN that the family is devastated by the incident.

“We don’t want to say anything about it. We are really shocked by Emma’s desperation. For now, we want to forget about the whole incident. He has his life to live,” Justin said.

The witch doctor, whose name was not given, has since gone into hiding.

The Serving Overseer of Latter Rain Assembly, Pastor Tunde Bakare, has described the presidential candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria, Mrs Oby Ezekwesili, as the best alternative to the incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari and Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who are the foremost contenders in the February 16 presidential election.

According to him, among the new crop of presidential candidates seeking to upset the status quo, Ezekwesili has unmatched attributes needed to salvage Nigeria.

This was contained in Bakare’s state of the nation address delivered during the Sunday service in his church in the Ogba area of Lagos.

In the address, titled, ‘The prophetic portrait of Nigeria in her latter days,’ Bakare observed that things were so bad in the country that no one, including soldiers, would be willing to lay down their lives for the country.

This, he observed, might be the reason why the military was having a hard time in the hands of Boko Haram insurgents, apart from being poorly equipped for the fight.

He spoke on the need to elect servant leaders and restructure the country.

Analysing the frontline candidates in the forthcoming presidential contest and the choice before Nigerians, Bakare said, “We have heard the incumbent (President Buhari of the All Progressives Congress) insist that Nigeria’s current problems were created within the 16 years of the previous administrations and that, little by little, they are working to rewrite the narrative.

“On the other hand, we have heard the ‘Atikulated’ side of the contest argue that the 16 years argument is now stale news. We have seen former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar and his running mate, Peter Obi, of the Peoples Democratic Party downplay the achievements of the current government.

“We have read the so-called ‘Atiku Plan,’ spanning a competitive and open economic system, public institution reform, reduction of infrastructure deficit, economic diversification, and human capital development. We have also heard Atiku Abubakar’s promise to restructure the polity with a focus on devolution of powers.”

He added, “We have seen a new generation challenging the old order and insisting that Nigerians do not have to choose between six and half a dozen.

“We have seen Kingsley Moghalu of the Young Progressives Party project his experience in economic management at national and international levels as he promises better economic management and a geo-economic restructuring of Nigeria.

“Meanwhile, Fela Durotoye of the Alliance for New Nigeria has eloquently promised a new Nigeria where the cost of living is reduced, power, security and health care are guaranteed, jobs are created, and law and order are maintained.”

He went further to review the performance of Omoyele Sowore, saying, “We have seen the likes of Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress criss-cross the nation, mobilising the young, especially students, in his drive to take our country back.

“However, of the new breed seeking to disrupt the political space, none gives me as much hope for the near future as does my sister, Obiageli ‘Oby’ Ezekwesili, of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria.”

Bakare identified attributes which, he said, placed Ezekwesili ahead of others as “her brilliance, experience, sacrificial service to our nation, antecedents at championing and executing pro-people and pro-good governance reforms, compassionate yet dogged belief in the Nigerian potential, and her faith in the God-ordained plan for Nigeria.”

The cleric added, “I salute her for jumping into the fray despite her seemingly limited chances and as I have said to her in times past, come what may, one day, and that day will come soon, we will fix this nation. One thing is very clear in my mind: with her candidacy, no Nigerian can reasonably say after the election that there was no credible alternative to the status quo in 2019.”

A 27-year-old woman, Rosemary Godday, has been arrested by the police for allegedly attempting to withdraw money from her friend’s bank account.

It was gathered that Godday impersonated her friend, Rosemary Onovakpuri, by filling a cash withdrawal teller for N500,000 with a forged signature.

The Punch learnt that Godday was apprehended when a discrepancy in the signature on the teller and that of the account holder in the bank’s system was discovered.

Upon her arrest, Godday claimed that she impersonated Onovakpuri because she owed her.

She said, “I went to the bank to withdraw the sum of N500,000 belonging to one of my friends called Rosemary. She was not aware that I was trying to forge her signature to withdraw the said amount. The basis for my action was annoyance of what she did to me four years ago.

“She robbed me of the sum of N3m. I did not know how she did it but all I can say is that she sometimes accompanied me to the bank. That was why I decided to pay her back by forging her signature before I was caught by security personnel.

“Since she withdrew my money four years ago, I have not seen or heard from her but I have had it in mind to pay her back in her own coin.”

Godday was arraigned before an Ikeja Magistrates’ Court on three counts of manner likely to cause breach of peace, impersonation and stealing.

The police prosecutor, Kenrich Nomayo, said the offences contravened sections 166 (a), 378(1) and 21(1) of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria, 2011.

The charges read in part, “That you, Rosemary Godday, on January 3, 2019, around 2pm at Diamond Bank Plc, Oshodi Branch, Charity bus stop, in the Ikeja Magisterial District, did conduct yourself in a manner likely to cause the breach of peace.

“That you, Rosemary Godday, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned magisterial district, did criminally impersonate one Rosemary Onovakpuri with intent to defraud her of the sum of N500,000 in Diamond Bank Plc, Oshodi branch, Charity bus stop.”

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The presiding magistrate, Mrs T. A. Ojo, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N200,00 with two sureties in like sum.

She said the sureties must be blood relatives of the accused, gainfully employed with evidence of three years tax payment to the Lagos State Government and have their addresses verified by the court.

Ojo added that the sureties must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and adjourned the case till February 12, 2019.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) said it has been vindicated by the concerns raised by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, detailing President Muhammadu Buhari’s alleged scheme to use apparatus of office to undermine the democratic system.

In a statement yesterday by its spokesman Kola Ologbondiyan, the party restated its position that Buhari was out for a self-succession plot.

The party added that Obasanjo’s submission has also
reinforced its position that Buhari, and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), having realised that the incumbent cannot retain his seat in a free and fair election, were now besieging all democratic institutions, including the judiciary, the legislature, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), while engaging in acts that threaten the unity, peace and corporate existence of the nation.

It alleged that President Buhari and APC’s desperation for power is putting the lives of over 200 million Nigerians at great risk, saying such actions stoke violence and push the nation to the precipice.

The statement reads: “We are however not surprised that the APC, a party that has shown that it is completely anti-people, quickly rose in defence of the Buhari Presidency’s assault on our democratic order. The APC has always been a deceptive soulless mob that would rather have our nation burn than to be out of power.

“President Obasanjo’s concern is therefore a clarion call to all compatriots, irrespective of ethnic, religious and political affiliations to rise in defence of our democracy.

“He has reinforced the fact that this nation belong to all of us; that our pride as a people lies in our resilience and globally acclaimed ability to rise above and defeat every situation that challenges our nationhood.

“The PDP, therefore, calls on all Nigerians to be at alert at this critical time to stop President Buhari and the APC on their anti-democratic trails with our votes.

“We should never allow anybody to set our nation on fire just to achieve selfish ambitions. We must eschew all our differences and unite in using our votes to take back our country from this dwindling, incompetent, ineffectual, corrupt and anti-people administration.

“If we don’t take action with our votes, we would be giving up our nation to totalitarian forces at our own peril and those of generations yet unborn”.
